Gain hands-on experience in the planning, preparing, and leading of worship as well as a foundational understanding of worship ministry from both the theological and practical perspectives. Grow in your vocal, keyboard, guitar, drumming, and other musical skills.
An audition for this elective is required.
Come and join in on the fun at our elementary or high school youth programs! Learn the foundational principles we use to make a large youth program run on a weekly basis. You’ll have the opportunity to help us plan games, run games, lead small groups, and maybe even get a shot at teaching in a large group setting.
FOUNDATIONS students will have the opportunity to interact with kids of all ages, and experience roles such as teaching both large and small groups of kids. Students will gain an understanding of the core values and practices of Creekside’s Kids Ministry as well as participate in all aspects of planning and preparing for Sunday mornings and mid-week and special events that take place throughout the year.
In this elective, students will gain an understanding and experience of Creekside’s Care and Recovery ministries. Students will receive an overview of our philosophy of Care and Recovery, our strategies, and the groups we offer. Students will have the opportunity to experience various Care and Recovery groups as well as meet with the Christian therapists we refer to.
How does Creekside connect with people during our weekend services to express the love of Christ? In this ministry elective students will get an overview of the Hospitality and Next Steps ministries at Creekside. Participants will gain an understanding of Creekside’s culture expressed through welcoming and hospitality as well as have opportunities to serve in our welcoming and hospitality ministries. Students will also engage in both local and global missions at Creekside learning about and connecting with Creekside’s local and global partners.
Learn and experience the technical and artistic elements essential to running audio, graphics, lighting, and video switching. Exercise those skills by serving in a variety of “live” environments. Grow in your ability to critique yourself and others to better use those tech tools. Also, learn and experience the technical and artistic elements essential for effective video production and graphic design. Leverage those skills to serve the Creekside Online Campus and all expressions of Social Media.
