Do I need to be part of Creekside Church to apply?

Nope! No need to be a part of Creekside Church to apply. But you do need to be a committed follower of Jesus.

What is FOUNDATIONS application process?

  1. Pray!
  2. Select three adults to serve as references for you and request their permission to use their names.
  3. Complete the FOUNDATIONS Application and submit it along with the Application Deposit.
  4. The FOUNDATIONS team will review your application and schedule an interview with you.
  5. The FOUNDATIONS team will reach out to your references with an email survey.
  6. The FOUNDATIONS team will notify you of the outcome.
  7. Approved students will then be required to submit the remainder of the school fee for that semester.

What is the age range for students of FOUNDATIONS

FOUNDATIONS is currently designed for young adults aged 18 – 28.

Why, with all the Bible Colleges around, do we need FOUNDATIONS?

That’s a great question.

We are big fans of Bible Colleges. But FOUNDATIONS is different. It is a discipleship experience that is unique for several reasons that differ from a typical Bible College experience.

Here’s why.

  • FOUNDATIONS IS SMALL – We are deliberately small. Our student body will consist of a maximum of 15 to 20 or so students. This small student body will enable us to provide the best student experience and more opportunities for interactions. Most Bible Colleges could not survive on a student body of that size.
  • FOUNDATIONS IS LOCAL CHURCH ORIENTED – This school is the ministry of Creekside Church. It is in a church. It is about the local church. It is through the local church. The ministry training options are taught and practiced in a local church. Bible Colleges, by their very nature, are usually not as connected to the local church.
  • FOUNDATIONS IMPACTS LOCAL SOCIAL CHALLENGES – Integrated into the school experience is active participation in helping meet local social needs through already existing and effective organizations.  Most Bible Colleges do not provide an integrated exposure to diverse challenges in the local community.
  • FOUNDATIONS HAS A NARROWER GOAL – Bible Colleges exist primarily to prepare men and women for vocational ministry such as pastors, educators  and missionaries. FOUNDATIONS does not exist to do that and is not adequately equipped to do that.
  • FOUNDATIONS IS ONLY 8 MONTHS LONG – Most Bible Colleges have most of their programs spread out over multiple years.
  • FOUNDATIONS IS A STEPPING STONE – We pray that some students, following their time at FOUNDATIONS, will sense God’s direction for vocational ministry and, as a result, attend Bible College. But it is also meant to provide a Godly foundation for students planning to participate in further education or in growing their careers.
  • FOUNDATIONS IS EXTREMELY HANDS-ON – Look at our five Building Blocks of Core Sessions, Local Impact, Ministry Electives, Cross-Cultural Engagement, and Personal Mentoring. Few, if any, Bible Colleges are equipped to integrate all these elements in just 8 months.

What if I cannot afford to attend but really want to?

Be sure to contact our Registrar and talk your situation through with us.  We may be able to work something out.

Will I be able to work part-time and still attend FOUNDATIONS?

Absolutely.  You will need to navigate around the school schedule, which can include some afternoon and evening events, but we think there is enough space in there for a part-time job.

If I cannot start FOUNDATIONS in September is it possible to start half-way through the school in January?

We would love to say yes but we are going to say, no.  The school is designed to flow from September through to April and parachuting in halfway through will mean that it will be challenging to get into the groove of the FOUNDATIONS learning and culture.  Also, because the school is small and relationships are critical to its success, students starting halfway through the school year will have a significant impact on the relationship dynamics that have already been established.

Do I need a computer?

Yeah, probably. You might want to leave your desk top at home but a laptop, tablet or a large phone would do the trick. Lots of what we do will require access to the internet.

What does it cost? What does the tuition cover?

The cost for the full eight months is $2,000.00

The tuition covers . . .

  • Teaching sessions
  • Ministry electives
  • Local engagement sessions
  • Student life activities
  • Learning resources
  • Conference trip

It does NOT cover . . .

  • The Cross-cultural missions experience. However, fundraising support will be provided.

Is the school a part-time or full-time experience?

FOUNDATIONS is an 8-month multi-dimensional experience. We estimate, on average, that students will invest approximately 25-30 hours a week in direct school activities.
